Lights Before Christmas - 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC – 6-9 PM – through 12/30
Experience Columbia's longest running holiday tradition-the 27th annual Lights Before Christmas at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The Zoo will light up each evening from 6pm to 9pm with more than one million twinkling lights and countless animated images representing some of Riverbanks' most loveable residents. Guests can roast marshmallows at the jingle bell bonfire, visit with Santa and enjoy the festive sounds of the Music in Motion lights spectacular.
Holiday Lights on the River –Saluda Shoals Park - 6-10 PM, through 12/31
Saluda Shoals Park will come alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Holiday Lights on the River features over 400 themed, animated light displays on a two-mile loop of the Park!
Take a stroll along the boardwalk through the Wetland Wonderland Walking Trail and watch nature come to life in sparkling lights. Take a hayride to the boardwalk for $1 per person or walk along the new trail to the Wetland and enjoy a laser light show and the Deck the Doors Holiday door display along the way.
Get ready for the slide of your life on the Winter Wonder Ride at Holiday Lights on the River. Zip through a series of lighted arches and experience downhill tubing without the snow on this 125 foot, exciting, fun-packed family ride.

Strap on some ice skates and pack your mittens for a frosty, fun-filled trip to Snowville. Our most popular seasonal exhibit is cooler than ever! Crawl through an ice tunnel, climb a snow-capped mountain, sled down a snowy hill, or visit the Penguin Observation Station. It’s all in Snowville!
Winter Fest – SC State Museum – through 1/04
The museum is celebrating the holiday season with two-weeks of exciting activities and programs. Different activities will take place each day during WinterFest, so please visit scmuseum.org for more details about each daily program. WinterFest is included with membership or general admission.

Every Tuesday in December the museum will host Tasting Twosdays, an opportunity for guests to enjoy free South Carolina-made food samplings and tastings of Ginger Wine Ninja Pinot Noir, a new wine label created by three local Columbia wine experts.

Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera – Columbia Museum of Art – through 1/08
This landmark exhibition includes 50 photographs that show the careful process Rockwell used to make his art, as well as 16 original paintings and drawings. Selecting props and locations, choosing and directing his models, he carefully orchestrated each element of his design for the camera before beginning to paint. This exhibition takes viewers "behind the scenes" in the creative process of one of America's great masters.
